STB President Mustafa Genç: “We Will Address the Livestock and Red Meat Sector in All Its Aspects Before Ramadan”
Sakarya Commodity Exchange (STB) Chairman of the Board Mustafa Genç announced that they will organize an important panel ahead of the month of Ramadan where the current state of the red meat and livestock sector will be discussed.
Chairman Genç stated that the first panel, to be organized within the scope of sectoral information meetings initiated under the leadership of Sakarya Commodity Exchange—one of Türkiye’s largest commodity exchanges—will take place on Thursday, February 12, and noted that they aim to bring together all stakeholders of the sector under one roof.
Mustafa Genç noted that the panel series, launched to support branding in the food and agriculture sectors and to increase information sharing, is being organized with the support of the Reliable Product Platform. “It is of great importance that the red meat sector, which is widely discussed in the public especially before the month of Ramadan, is addressed with a prudent, data-based, and multi-stakeholder approach,” he said.
Chairman Genç explained that the first panel of the series will be held under the title “The Past, Present, and Future of the Livestock and Red Meat Sector” at the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Social Development Center Conference Hall, emphasizing that the sector’s current problems, solution proposals, and future perspective will be evaluated comprehensively during the panel.
Genç also stated that the opening speeches of the panel will be delivered by himself and Reliable Product Platform Chairman Celal Toprak. He added that the event will feature speakers including Salih Çelik, General Director of Livestock at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry; Asım Baş, Sakarya Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry; Rahmi Kartal, Chairman of the Board of İstanbul PERDER; Associate Professor Dr. Cemalettin Ayvazoğlu from Ardahan University; Gökhan Alan, Marmara Region Marketing Manager at Migros A.Ş.; agricultural journalist Gazi Kutlu; and gastronomy expert Biral Serttaş.
Mustafa Genç stated that the panel, where production, export and import balances, product safety, legal regulations, and current developments in the sector will be discussed, will take place on Thursday, February 12 at 14:00, adding that the event is open to everyone.
